Do you ever feel like God’s just done with you? You’ve made too many mistakes and He’s given up?
Mandy here. I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all felt like that at some point. I’ve been reminded recently that God is much more patient than our human brains can understand.
Just a couple weeks ago, I completed a study of the story of Gideon in the Old Testament. In that historical record in Judges chapters 6 and 7, God’s patience is on full display as Gideon asks over and over and over again for confirmation of his calling. The Lord doesn’t get angry because Gideon didn’t totally trust the first, second, or third miracle. Instead, He shows tremendous patience.
God’s patience is also seen in the 40 days of warning for the city of Ninevah which He spared in the book of Jonah.
It’s seen in the hundred years of warning before the global flood in Genesis.
It’s seen in the several please of Abraham as he bargains with God.
Brothers and sisters, God knows you and all your imperfections. He LOVES you. And He’s patient to work with you, to complete the good work that He began in you (Philippians 1:6). So I encourage you, keep going and keep growing, knowing that you’ll never exhaust your Heavenly Father’s love and patience.
