It’s not unusual for Christian music legend TobyMac to make incredible collaborations with other artists. You’ve heard him sing along with other Christian artists like Newsboys, Mandisa, Blessing Offer, and others. He’s also worked with secular artists including Owl City and Sheryl Crow. However, it is quite unusual for most of an album to be collaborations, but that’s exactly what we find with his latest album “Life After Death.” Recently released to radio, “Cornerstone” is one such combined effort with none other than Zach Williams. Together, let’s discover what TobyMac had to say about the song, what Scripture says about our Cornerstone, then sing along with the song.
WHAT TOBYMAC SAYS ABOUT CORNERSTONE

TobyMac is thrilled at what Zach brings to the song, saying on Facebook, “Honored to have my man Zach on this one with me, I love this song and I love Zach’s voice on it. He brought it to a whole “notha” level.”
We totally agree! But the greatness of the song doesn’t lie in just the voices that bring it to life, but the heart behind it. TobyMac writes this at the release of the song:
What are you building your life on? Sometimes we may not even mean to, but we start building on the promises of this world. And maybe even in just certain areas of lives. At times it can be difficult to navigate. I wrote this one with my brothers Fowler and Kuiper, we were tired of the fogginess and wanted to say it out loud… we want to intentionally build our lives in every area on the solid rock. On Christ alone, the Cornerstone. All other ground is sinking sand.

WHAT THE BIBLE ABOUT THE CORNERSTONE
The world certainly offers countless promises of wealth, fame, security, happiness and more. But the truth is that it has no power to deliver on the things that really matter, the things that have eternal value. Yet when we choose to put Christ first in all things and walk in obedience to His will, we find a purpose, stability and community centered on Jesus.
As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
