It’s that time again for another update on Sunny D’s Top 3! Our resident worship concert junkie has new favorites every time she enters the studio. However, she’s been so thrilled about these brand new faves that she INSISTED they be shared for you to enjoy with her!
3. “Famous For” by Tauren Wells
From Tauren Well’s brand new album “Citizen of Heaven” comes Sunny D’s first fave, “Famous For.” Many songs from the album have a very funky feel. But this song takes a more worshipful direction while still maintaining an upbeat sound.
Sunny D says, “Love this one because it is an upbeat one, I find myself dancing every time it’s on. My FAVE part is when they sing ‘God of exceedingly, God of abundantly…more than we ask or think.'”
If you’re ever driving near Sunny D while she’s listening to this song, you’ll undoubtedly be able to hear her singing along loud and clear in your own vehicle.
2. “Alive & Breathing” by Matt Maher
The latest from Matt Maher is so excellent, it’s already garnering requests from Life 90.5 listeners just like you. In fact, host Sunny D has been texting in requests during other hosts’ shifts to hear this song!
She says, “Maher is such a talented singer and songwriter! I love when he sings ‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord’ and the part that says ‘Don’t stop dancing and dreaming, still good news worth repeating.’ Good stuff right there!”
If one thing’s for sure, Sunny D will certainly never stop dancing.
1. “The Father’s House” by Cory Asbury
Following the massive success of “Reckless Love,” Cory took a year-long hiatus to focus on his family. Much to the delight of his fans, the first single released after his return to the recording studio is an incredible anthem of worship. It didn’t take long for Sunny D to fall in love with it.
She gushes, “This may be my NUMBER 1 FAVE out of the three! It’s just all about how loving and patient and forgiving our Father is. It says ‘Check your shame at the door, cuz it ain’t welcome anymore!’ I LOVE that!!! Gosh, I love Christian music… it REALLY is SO rich and so applicable to our lives!”
Certainly, it’s our prayer that you get just as much encouragement out of Christian music as Sunny D does. Thanks, sister, for sharing your faves! We are sure it won’t be long before we get another edition of Sunny D’s Top 3.
