It’s a Tuesday during December, so it had to be done — Mandy’s top 3 favorite Christmas songs! In this very special edition of Top 3 Tuesday, Christmas fanatic Mandy shares her current favorite Christmas songs that you’ll hear on Life 90.5.
3. “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Tenth Avenue North and Sarah Reeves
Tenth Avenue North perform an incredible collaboration with Sarah Reeves, giving new life to an old Christmas hymn. They could have recorded a tradition version like many other artists. However, they decided to have a little fun with it. As a result, I have a new reason to dance in the studio. And by “dance,” I mean swivel around in my office chair and hope no one sees me.
2. “This Year for Christmas” by Phil Wickham
What a precious, romantic Christmas song! Brand new from Phil’s new Christmas album, this tune penned for his wife strikes a chord in my heart. Instead of worrying about what gift to buy each other on a budget (especially in those tight early years of marriage), this song is a great reminder to simply be thankful for my husband Bob. The Lord has blessed us so much in each other, so he’s all I really need this Christmas.
1. “Noel” by Lauren Daigle
This song was unknown to me until just last year. I remember being in the studio on a regular December day doing my on-air shift when this song played. Breaking through the typical craziness of the season, it had me in tears at the refreshing invitation to “come and see what God has done.” Instead of being drawn away by countless Christmas distractions, the message through Lauren’s voice refocused my heart on this “story of amazing love.”
