The Cape Fear Packathon is this weekend! Scott Cheatham and J Michael joined us a few weeks back for our Ministry Focus. But now they join us this morning for an update!
Warehouse space has been donated and all financial needs have been covered for this event. So what do they need now? You. You can sign up now for one (or more) of three shifts to help pack meals that will feed families all over the world. The shifts are Friday from 6:30-8:30pm, then Saturday from 9-11am and 12:30-2:30pm.
This will a safe, socially distant event with masks required in addition to the trend-setting hairnet. The Feed the Hunger organization has held several packathons during the pandemic, packing more than 2.5 million meals, all with zero reports of virus outbreaks.
The meals you pack this weekend will go to many different places. Ninety percent will go across the globe to orphanages, schools, and refugee camps in need. However, the remaining ten percent will stay in the Wilmington area to help local families.
You can sign up now for the most fun you’ll have in a hairnet, and this year, a mask too. Register for the Cape Fear Packathon at feedthehunger.org/capefear.
