Ratio Christi Presents Crossroads: Faith, Sexuality, and Gender in the Age of Living Your Truth
Thu March 16 @ 7:00 pmFree
Among the many issues with which our culture is struggling, there is none greater than gender and sexuality. Consistent with the relativism that accompanies the postmodern worldview, the concept of gender/biological sex has been reshaped into something that is fluid and subjective. An important consequence of this is that the concept of a person’s identity has become inextricably entwined primarily with his sexual orientation rather than his value as an image bearer of God. Consequently, the task of a Christian to point folks toward God’s design for sex and identity has become extremely challenging.
On Thursday, March 16, Ratio Christi will be hosting Dr. Kathy Koch and Christine Sneeringer on campus to address these issues from a Christian worldview perspective. Dr. Koch is a family psychologist, professor, and author who has spoken internationally on the topic. She is a frequent expert on various news networks, has been featured on Focus on the Family radio, and has spoken before universities and groups like the Colson Center and Summit Ministries. Christine is a writer and speaker who will be sharing her story which includes overcoming sexual abuse and her two-decade struggle with gender dysphoria. The presentation will also feature a short video from John H., a former Boston drag queen who frequently speaks at events with Dr. Koch.
The event will be held in Warwick Ballroom at UNCW, will begin at 7pm, and is free and open to the public. Feel free to share and invite friends to attend!
