Fields of Faith at Croatan High School

Fields of Faith, a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event at Croatan High School on Wednesday, October 11th at 6:30pm.

We will have music, student testimonies from Carteret and Onslow County as well as guest speaker ECU baseball player Parker Byrd. Parker lost his leg in a boating accident and is about to become the first amputee college baseball player to play with a prosthetic.

Gather on the football field, but will be moved to the basketball gym in the event of bad weather.

Free pizza will be available.

More about Parker Byrd:

Parker Byrd is a sophomore at East Carolina University. He is a current member of the East Carolina University baseball team. Parker was born in Columbia, SC but grew up in Laurinburg, NC. He is the son of Dr. Jeff and Mitzi Byrd and the brother of Gracen and Brinley. He is a 2022 graduate of Scotland High School. He was a 4 year starter on the varsity baseball team. He was named to the NC All-State both his junior and senior year.

Parker committed to play baseball at ECU as a high school freshman. Parker reported for summer school at ECU with all the incoming baseball freshmen in June 2022.

Prior to the last week of being in Greenville for the summer, Parker was injured by a boat propeller while hanging out with his fellow teammates in Bath, NC. Parker’s right lower leg was amputated after multiple surgeries to save it. He endured 22 surgeries in 45 days. Parker has plans to become the first Division 1 baseball player to play baseball with a prosthesis.
